It doesn't get much better than an event that brings together girls of all ages for fun, food, and creating new friendships, does it?! No one tells you that meeting good girlfriends after college is such a daunting task so any place for me to spend a night in an estrogen-filled room {I live with my hubby, a male dog, and work in an office that's easily 80+ % male} is a welcomed outing! When I first caught wind of Girls Night Omaha on Sara's Instagram (@sarasab) I was immediately intrigued. As soon as registration opened, I signed up right away and snagged 1 of the coveted 100 spots. There was even a waiting list! How cool is that!? Not sure what to expect, I hoped to have a glass of wine, gather some Fall Fashion tips, and possibly purchase something at the adorable host boutique, Four Sisters. I got all of that, but what I also got--and wasn't expecting--was a feeling of inspiration from the #girlbosses behind this fantastic community event and the amazing opportunity to be a part of their next (and upcoming) event!

Fitness has always been important to me and growing up my family was always very active. When I was younger I stayed in shape easily, moving from sport to sport and practices to games. Once I hit my college years, I realized that I actually had to make working out a priority. Lets just say for about 4 years my main priorities didn't involve much of a constant regime. I ran occasionally, took group classes here & there, and {under} utilized my free gym membership when the mood struck. Until Spring Break or Summers were on the horizon, I was not exactly the epitome of a 'fit chick.'
It seems like just yesterday Haley was living with Kyle & I in Omaha and had only just met 'some boy' named Adam. As of 5:30pm on Saturday, October 3rd, that boy became her husband. You hope that your siblings will find true love and live happily ever after, but at the same time as the oldest sister I was always a bit skeptical that anyone would be good enough for my little sisters. Adam won me (and Kyle) over after not too long and I can honestly say that I do believe he is her perfect match. They complete--and balance--each other out and it has been so much fun to witness their relationship grow from the first time they met to the present day.
Sometimes I make impulsive decisions when it comes to fashion. I'm sure that a lot of people {at least I HOPE a lot of people} can relate to that. In my everyday life, impulsive is quite the opposite of how I am. Rarely does a decision I make not involve excessive thought or planning AND it usually involves a list of some sort. Lately though, in terms of style, I have let my heart lead me to purchase certain items. Not all of those 'heart-driven' moments have been successful. Take this coat (not even close to what I thought it would fit like) and these boots (so not comfy) for example--both went back immediately after arriving on my doorstep. When this oversized fringe coat came in the mail Kyle referred to it as an 'Appache' coat, saying it looked very 'Native' and also used the word yuck. Wellllllllll not always will everyone agree with a style choice you make and that is totally ok. Being unique and true to what you like is all that really matters! {To be honest, I did make sure he didn't think I personally looked ugly in it because I draw the line at the hubby hating me in an item!} Since I loved the oversized fit, am a huge fan of all things fringe, and because it the perfect camel color, it is definitely a keeper. It's not too heavy, so it will be just right for cool but not cold days.
