Today I am being super basic and sharing some of my 10 favorite Black Friday sales as well as what items I'm adding to my cart or have already ordered. While I've always been a fan of shopping with my mom & sisters the day-after Thanksgiving {every single year since I was in 3rd grade!}, this year looks a bit different for me. My parents and youngest sister's relocation to Texas back in May meant that we weren't all able to be together for Turkey Day, so instead I am spending my long weekend in very small town Iowa. Luckily my in-laws are fabulous and I was able to do some actual in-store shopping at the few of the nearby stores! Other than those though, a majority of the steals & deals I've taken advantage of have been online and purchased with a glass of wine in hand and wool, Fair Isle socks on my feet.
Reaching outside my usual color palette of blacks, greys, creams, more black, and the some more grey, I thought this color added the perfect edge to my cozy knits collection. The light, icy blue tone works well for all different skin colors and brings a softness to the deeper shades of Fall and Winter. When I found this at Lulu's, I was intrigued first by the scoop back and that it was referred to as a sweater dress. The word dress must have been a really light suggestion because at just under 5'5" there is NO WAY I could've pulled this off without pants. I do not discriminate when it comes to buying oversized, chunky sweaters; whether they be cowl-neck, off-the-shoulder, v-neck, or a cardigan, I have yet to buy one this year that I don't love just as much as the others.
Sweatshirts are my jam. Am I wearing a bra underneath them? Maybe. Maybe not. But cute sweatshirts are even better because you can feel incredibly comfortable while not appearing like you just rolled out of bed. While I have graduated--for the most part--from wearing over-sized sports hoodies out in public, I cannot pass up a great 'adult' version of the top that got me through many college days. :) This particular polka dotted number was purchased during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale {shocking, I know...} and has since sold-out but I've found some equally cute options here, here, and here.
