First things first, I'm NOT a shorts girl. I was never gifted with long, lean legs but instead ones that are quite stocky even after averaging 25-30 miles of running each week. So a huge shout-out to my genetics! But shorts...not usually my favorite piece of clothing to wear because their either ridiculously short or they make my legs look even shorter than they already are. Thank goodness this season's trends have strayed away, for the most part, from the itty-bitty booty shorts to the over-sized (and very forgiving) boyfriend style. YAY! After ordering multiple pairs of jean shorts online, returning them, ordering a few more, and returning some of those, I FINALLY found not just 1 or 2 pairs but FOUR pairs of jean shorts that I liked! Not only did I like each one of them, but they fit, are appropriate for a mid-20s girl, and should last me many summers to come.

I like jeans. I like jeans a lot. And when I say a lot, I mean a LOT. I'm always on the look-out for a pair of cute skinnys, obnoxiously shredded boyfriends, or a great high-waisted flare to add to my ever-growing collection. One thing I do lack in the denim department is a good variety of colored options. While in Minneapolis last weekend we made a quick (shocking, I know) stop at the Mall of America. I had a small list of stores I wanted to pop in to {Kiehl's, Madewell, Free People, Nordstrom, & Club Monaco) and I'm so glad I did. Free People is one of my favorite brands for casual, laid-back items but I rarely get to actually try their pieces on in stores and usually rely on ordering online because the nearest store is 3 hours away. From the minute we walked into the store, I started piling pieces in Kyle's arms to be tried on--he was, thankfully, a great sport about it!
One of the biggest trends in food right now are home delivery services, companies that claim to 'make cooking easy.' While I'm actually a huge fan of cooking meals at home for Kyle and I (and now Cassidy for the next few months☺), I've noticed that what I cook has become less creative and I'm relying heavily on a few go-to recipes (this, this, and grilling various fish & turkey burgers). When I first learned about the potential to have fresh, and mostly healthy, ingredients delivered right to my door with all of the instructions needed for a full meal, I thought it would be WAY out of our budget. I was {sort of} wrong. Initially I tried the meal service Plated back in February but after 3 weeks of deliveries, we weren't thrilled so I cancelled the subscription and moved on.
Reds are universally flattering and such a great deviation from the colors that we all usually wear on a day-to-day basis. While you may be a bit hesitant to go bold for just any occasion, something simple like this tank or these heels are a great way to introduce the vivid shade into your wardrobe. Everyone has their go-to Little Black Dress, but how many people can say they have the perfect Little Red Dress?
If you love fashion, there is a 99.9% chance you've seen Emma's Dress. The minute I saw it this on Free People's Instagram page, I went looking for it. Unfortunately for me, this pink color was initially sold-out. Unfortunately for me now, this color is now fully in-stock AND is $60 less than when I bought it. The material naturally has texture to it, which makes it a great piece for packing and not having to worry about it getting wrinkled, since it kind of already is! I'm already planning on taking this with on a few upcoming weekend getaways. I ordered this (in an XS--it definitely runs big!) from Nordstrom but you can find it here, here, here, and here and it comes in so many colors.
