I'm usually a black fan all day, every day, but over the past few months I have traded my black-on-black looks for bright whites. I love how clean (if you can keep it that way!) white looks and it literally matches everything. This white jumper is way out of my comfort zone, not just because of the color but because the shape is completely different from anything I own. The sleeves are a bit unexpected, the neck is out of the ordinary for the current season, and the fit is a little off, yet somehow it all works together. Pairing it with slightly destructed skinnys, bold white pumps, and a simple bag allow all focus to be on the top. With the unusual style of the top, I think any kind of pairing needs to be understated and take a backseat to this item that deserves to be center-stage.

Anyone who knows me knows I have a shopping addiction. I also have a problem of picking things up, carrying them around for 20 minutes, and then deciding at the last-minute that I don't need most of what I was hauling around. Since a vast majority of my shopping is done online now, that problem of teeter-tottering on what I want/what I need has spilled over into my online 'shopping cart.' Below are some of the items that I have in my various carts at the moment...
Getting ready to embark on a 9+ hour road trip is daunting in itself and figuring out what to wear on the drive can make it even more stressful. While usually easiest to throw on some old yoga pants and a hoodie, it is nice to have a slightly more presentable outfit for those food/potty break/stretching stops. I feel so much more put-together when I at least have on something that matches. :)
As soon as the weather started making a change for the better and I began to put away my heavier coats, I started the search for the perfect 'transitional trench.' Wanting something that could be layered over jeans and a light sweater on more winter-like days but also an option that could be worn with a shift dress to work on mornings where a light jacket was needed, the hunt proved to be much harder than expected. After scouring the internet, popping into various stores while out and about, and enlisting the help of my mom and sister, I finally narrowed it down to this, this, and this. I was set on going with something blue because while still a neutral, it strays away from the usual khaki styles, and matches nearly everything I own. The ultimate deciding-factor was that I was physically able to try on the piece from The Loft; plus I felt the tone of blue worked well with my complexion. The moment I put it on I knew I had to have it AND it just so happened to be 40% off! (It is now marked down even more!) That totally sealed the deal. Over the last month or so, I've been able to wear it almost daily and have gotten numerous compliments on both the color and overall style.
This past weekend we made the 2 1/2 hour drive back to Kyle's hometown of Gowrie, Iowa for his sister's college graduation party. {HUGE Congratulations to Miss Lindsey on her BA in Education from Iowa State!!!} It was so nice to relax, unwind, and get out of the city for a few days.
