Ahhh, comfies. I absolutely love clothes, fashion, getting dressed up for date night, etc. but the moment I walk in my garage door after a long day at work, OFF go the nice clothes. It's in world-record time that all things restrictive are gone. The order looks something like shoes off, up the stairs, bra off, pants off, contacts out, and then buh-bye to the makeup. It is seriously hard to beat the feeling of cozy slippers, a bare face, and freedom from undergarments! I'm not alone, right!? Don't get me wrong, I'll always be a fan of a good pair of heels, great-fitting denim, and a bold lip; however I am totally thrilled that the term 'Athleisure' is now widely recognized as an actual thing. Gone are the days of ratty sweats {RIP Kyle's really old Jordans} as we are now in a time of booming brands like Lululemon, Athleta, and Crane & Lion being worn just as often outside the gym as they are in it. I'm also very thankful for a husband who values his comfortable attire even more than I do and is on-board with me wearing comfies a good 75% of the time we're in the house. #thanksbubba
Sometimes we find pieces of clothing that are totally different than anything we own so we pass them by without much thought, even though they may be perfect for us. With my current wardrobe consisting of mostly neutral tones, lots of cowl necks & oversized tops, and distressed denim, I have been making a conscious effort to try and diversify the new items I purchase. That being said, if I find an inexpensive, comfy grey tee, I’m obviously going to have to add it to my closet next to the 10 others. ;-) Case in point: this tee that was just too perfect to pass up. In Nebraska, ‘Sweater Weather’ is about half the year so I am always keeping my eyes open for cute knit options. On my most recent visit to local-Omaha boutique Four Sisters, I spied this polka dotted sweater and without hesitation, {or trying it on} purchased it. I’m super-sensitive to wool/wool blends and was a bit nervous about it when I got home but I have been really surprised by how soft and cozy it actually is!
